Join us as we shine a light on a stylish dreamworld where you must learn to master the shadows.
In the spotlight
The first time you set off down the rain-soaked streets in this surreal vision of 1920s Paris, you'll wonder where all that noise is coming from.
As you explore it gets louder and louder, until you reach a nondescript door in some equally nondescript back alley.
The door swings open and the wail of muted trumpets, the crash of symbols and the feverish thump of a double bass all hit you at once.
You've been taken back to a time when the "Jazz Age" is in full swing and the atmosphere is buzzing with excitement.
But all is not what it seems. This dark yet apparently bustling bar is completely empty. The sound is there, but there's not a soul in the place. In fact, did you see anyone out in the street?
Prepare to enter a dream-like world filled with surprises around every corner - and in every shadow.
The show must go on
Tonight's headline act at the Ghost Note is the premiere performance of Katherine Knight - it's the show everyone's been talking about, especially Katherine's daughter Didi.
But Didi's too young to go alone, and her father; well her father hasn't been home much recently.
Not one to sit out of an adventure, Didi escapes through her bedroom window with the help of Dawn, a mute acrobat with the power to shift in and out of shadows.
And it's a good thing the duo are out tonight - Katherine's estranged husband Johnny is back in town with his latest venture; a circus starring The Amazing Vincenzo.
Unfortunately the circus has been funded by some unsavoury gangsters, so when the wheels start to come off the show and the investors threaten Johnny and his family, it's up to Didi and Dawn to save the day.
You'll step into the dainty shoes of Dawn and have to learn to use her shadow shifting abilities to solve the escalating problems of Didi's family.
The first puzzles you'll face introduce you to Dawn's powers; shift between the "real" world and the 2D one created by shadows projected on walls and other flat surfaces around the city.
As you get further into the story, the puzzles become more complex. You'll have to move real-world objects to alter the shadows they cast, switch in and out of the shadows in precise movements and repair lights along the way.
At times you'll have to take a step back to see the bigger picture as solutions can be deceivingly simple. Look out for the charming platformer-inspired puppet show level, where you fill in for one of the main characters in a fairy tale; the star performance in an atmospheric and refreshingly different adventure.
