A world divided between two races. Tension you can cut with a knife. Find out what it's like to play the latest shooter from Guerrilla Games.
In the shadow of the wall, nothing is clear
The war with the Helghast was brought to a cataclysmic end - culminating in the detonation of Petrusite weapons that all but destroyed their planet. With their home world lost, a reluctant peace treaty was reached and the remaining Helghast travelled to Vekta as refugees.
Thirty years later, a massive wall has been built across the whole of Vekta to divide the two sides. However, tensions are reaching their limit, and the uneasy truce is about to be broken in a hail of bullets and explosions. Extremists on either side are gunning for all-out war, and you'll have to decide the type of hero you really are.
It's all in the detail
Explore both sides of a planet divided. The Vektans live in a futuristic paradise, where the brightly lit and vibrant buildings are awash with colour and the inhabitants stroll through serene rooftop gardens.
Over the wall in New Helghan, the totalitarian regime keeps a tight grip on its citizens, and slums litter the heavily militarised city. Sneak through dank vents or rip through a group of enemies with your rail gun as you complete missions on the dark side of the wall.
The staggering detail of each level begs you to soak in every inch of the game. It's so beautiful you may just find yourself forgetting to reload as you savour the scenery.
Echo across the wall
A stellar cast of A-list stars voice the major characters you'll meet as you battle on both sides of the wall. Enjoy the commanding presence of VSA director Sinclair, voiced by David Harewood from Homeland, and the sinister propaganda of Chancellor Visari on your journey through the vicious conflict.
Step into the shoes of Lucas Kellan. Forced to flee from the Helghast side of the wall as a boy, he grew up to join the elite covert force as a Shadow Marshal in the VSA.
The Helghast have their own military, and the aptly named Echo is very much your counterpart on the other side of the wall. Voiced by Jamie Gray Hyder from television show True Blood, Echo's motivations are unclear, and will put your own loyalty to the test.
Get ready for action
Shooters are defined by their gunplay, and KILLZONE SHADOW FALL doesn't disappoint. Each weapon you get your hands on has a distinct feel, from the trusty rail gun that accompanies you for much of the game to more outlandish weapons like the PNV-06 Voltage rifle, which fires charged bolts to devastating effect.
The tools you have at your disposal bring a level of flexibility that you don't find in other shooters. Perching proudly at the top of the gadget pile is your OWL - a tactical drone that can be deployed to attack or stun your enemies, create a portable energy shield to protect you or even create a zipline, allowing you to zoom across large gaps in the landscape and stealthily drop down onto enemies below.
