Affinion to provide a comprehensive identity protection programme for PSN users, available free for 12 months.
Sony Network Entertainment Europe Ltd (SNEE) and Sony Computer Entertainment Europe Ltd (SCEE) today announced a new identity protection programme for PlayStation Network and Qriocity customers in the UK, France, Italy, Spain and Germany.
The new identity protection programme helps customers protect their personal information, in light of the criminal intrusion of the PlayStation Network and Qriocity services in April 2011.
The programme will be offered by Affinion International Limited, and will allow PSN members impacted by the recent data breach to avail themselves of an identity protection programme. It comprises monitoring, surveillance, reporting and insurance for all existing eligible PSN registrants who contact Affinion within the five countries who may be at risk from Identity Fraud and the premium will be paid for by Sony for the first 12 months.
The fraud protection service offered by Affinion will provide access to the following key components:
1. Monitoring and Alerting Service
2. Personal Information Protection Software
3. Dedicated help line
4. Victim of Fraud support
5. Insurance that covers the expenses incurred in identity restoration following identity fraud
6. Card Monitoring and Alerting Service
Further details can be found at:

Italy: www.fraudprotect.it
Germany: www.fraudprotect.de
Spain: www.fraudprotect.es
SNEE and SCEE will continue to investigate the possibility of similar programmes being identified for other countries as part of an ongoing process. The process will depend greatly on the identification and due diligence of local suppliers and further information will be announced as and when further programmes are finalised.
PSN customers under the age of 18 are advised to consult their parent, guardian or responsible person over the age of 18.
