Stunning you with space opera

Presentation

Stunning you with space opera

Firing you into the depths of space and beyond, N.O.V.A. is a laser fuelled first person shooter which drops you into a terrifying alien invasion. Starting off on the leafy colony of New Ceres, you jump into the Mobile Armoured Suit of Captain Kal Wardin who has been forced out of retirement. Your task? To rejoin Marine Corps unit Near-Orbit Vanguard Alliance (N.O.V.A.) and investigate why starship Colonial Pride has mysteriously ceased communications.

Rifle in tow, your alien battling journey takes you through gloomy corridors, abandoned ships, rich jungles and even a frosty landscape. With suitably tense music, creepy sound effects and smooth visuals, each environment is atmospheric and convincing, capturing little details that immerse you in the edgy scenario. Meteors fly past the Colonial Pride as you're forced to fulfil a mission on the ship's hull, while a blizzard engulfs your visibility as you attempt to infiltrate a military base. It all transports you into a fantastic adventure where anything can happen.

Gameplay

Shine like a star

Mankind is in great danger and only you can stop its extinction at the hands of a brutish alien race. N.O.V.A. gives you the ultimate responsibility of saving humanity by embarking on 13 levels where danger lurks in every shadow. Thankfully, you're armed with a variety of weapons to help turn these nasty Xenos aliens into space dust. Grab your pistol, rifle, shotgun and other tools of destruction, and get blasting.

Make sure you have your wits about you as well, as these aliens are always looking to get the upper hand. They crawl out of air vents without warning, pick up hunks of machinery to hurl at you and combat roll out of the way of your fire.

And it's not always about stellar action during your many objectives, either. You'll also be challenged to hack into computer terminals to open weapon caches and unlock doors, as well as make difficult choices in optional tasks such as whether to save an abandoned crew or spare your ammunition for the next level.

With a variety of objectives, such as protecting certain areas from Xenos, operating a machine gun turret on the back of a jeep and shutting down a teleportation portal full of rampaging aliens, N.O.V.A. offers a galaxy of entertainment. There are plenty of save points to make sure you can quickly jump back into a game and each level's climax reveals statistics such as shot accuracy and enemies killed to keep you coming back for a fresh challenge.

It's an epic fight for survival against a sinister threat - are your shooting skills hot enough to succeed in N.O.V.A.?
